is an award-winning proxy server that enables
multiple users to access the Internet
simultaneously through one shared Internet
connection. RideWay is both simple and
cost-effective: the software is installed onto a
single Windows 95/98/NT machine; no additional
hardware or software is required for the other
networked computers (Windows 95/98/NT/3.1/3.11,

What
is a "user" as referred to in the above
price table?
A user refers to a PC which is set to Proxy mode and
connects to the Internet through the RideWay.
Do
Internet connections from the Server PC count as an
additional "user"?
The
browser in the server PC can be set to either Proxy
mode (running through RideWay) or No Proxy mode. In
either case, this PC can connect to the Internet. If
the browser in the server is set to Proxy mode,
useful RideWay features such as access control and
log generating will also apply to this PC. However,
this will also add one additional user.
How
do I upgrade my registered version to allow for
additional users?
Users
seeking to add additional users after purchasing a
lower user license can do so by paying the
difference plus a RM 110.00 service fee.
Which
user license is best for me?
Single-User
License
Single-user licenses allow the user
to implement RideWay in one of two ways. If the user
configures the Server PC (i.e., the Windows 95/NT
machine that connects to the Internet) to go through
a proxy, then that machine becomes the single-user
licensed machine. On the other hand, if the user
wishes to access and log the Client PC, then the
Server PC must not be configured to use a proxy. In
this case, the Client PC becomes the single-user
licensed machine.
Three-User
License
Three-user licenses entitle a user to configure the
Server PC through a proxy and add two other Client
PCs. On the other hand, the user can configure the
Server PC in the no proxy mode and configure three
other client machines in the manual proxy mode.
Again, while all machines will have access to the
Internet, only three machines' activity on the
Internet can be logged with RideWay.
Multi-User
License
In the case of a multi-user license, that is, up to
eight users, a maximum of eight PCs can be logged
under RideWay. As with the Single-User license and
the Three-User License, users can specify whether
they want the Server PC to have a license or not.
Unlimited-User
License
This entitles users to specify the Server PC and
unlimited number of Client PCs to have licenses and
be collectively-logged under RideWay.
