The AVG Rescue CD is basically a
portable variant of AVG based on the Windows PE platform. It
is distributed as a bootable CD intended for operating
system recovery in such an event where the system cannot be
loaded in the regular way – for example due to substantial
virus infection.
The AVG Rescue CD incorporates the full scanning power of
AVG Anti-Malware, offering extended protection to your
personal computer due to the Anti-Virus and the Anti-Spyware
components. Enabling you to fully scan and heal infections
on your inoperable computer.

Important notice
- The Microsoft Windows
Preinstallation Environment software included with this
software may be used for boot, diagnostic, setup,
restoration, installation, configuration, test or
disaster recovery purposes only.
- As a security
precaution, if your computer remains booted-up on the
AVG Rescue CD for 24 hours continuously, it will
automatically re-boot without prior notification.

Licensing
- The AVG Rescue CD is a multi
node license.
- A single user may administer
multiple computers but only one at a time.
- Licenses can be purchased
for 1 year.
- Each license includes all
program and database updates and full technical support for
the license duration.
Distribution
- AVG Rescue CD is only
offered with Sales Numbers - to minimize the number
of unregistered licenses. It is available in the form of an
electronic download (ISO file packed in *.rar - approx.
80MB), or on a backup CD (for an additional fee).
- It is necessary to register
the Sales Numbers for your customers using the Registration
Tool available on the AVG Reseller Center (in the License
Management section).
- After sucessful
registration, you will receive an e-mail with a License
Number, a Communication Key (required for your
customer to get access to the phone technical support) and a
License File (avgelc.dat) that is necessary to
activate the product.
- Note: this file will be sent
as an attachment. Also, please note that the License Number
can be entered into a special form on Grisoft’s website to
regenerate the License File (e.g. if the License File is
lost).
Activation
- As the AVG Rescue CD is an
application to be run from a read-only bootable CD, the
activation process is a bit different from other AVG
products.
- A downloaded ISO image or
received CD has to be "patched" with the above mentioned
Licence File (avgelc.dat - includes Licence Number + date of
expiration and the name of the customer) using the special
utility MakeCd.exe (also downloadable or included on the
CD).
- The customer has to burn his
own, personalized copy of AVG Rescue CD (including his
License Number and name).
